MORE ABOUT MARC
Born Marc Allen Ridge in 1990 to teenage parents in Lafayette, IN. Marc started his interest in music as young as the age of 8, listening to his mother's love of music that would fill his home as a child. Both of his grandfathers played guitar, one influenced by the sounds of Johnny Cash, and the other by Led Zeppelin--you can say, music runs in his veins. He picked up his first guitar at the age of 12 and started teaching himself chords, rhythm, and how to sing. By 16 he was playing in bars, only old enough to be allowed in the bar as long as he was on stage. At 18 he found himself married and signing up for the US Army. Dedicating 4 years to service, including a 12 month deployment tour in Afghanistan (OEF9/10). While stationed in Germany, Marc and his wife welcomed their first child in 2011. In 2012 Marc was discharged from the military and arrived back stateside with his wife, Kristen, and 1 year old son. In the Summer of 2013, Marc signed a contract with his great-uncle to acquire a piece of property and home that had been in his family for over 100 years. The dilapidated house needed a lot of work, including running water and electric. In 2014, Marc and Kristen welcomed their second son and moved into their still unfinished soon to be home. Marc decided to start a homestead to enrich his family's life as they repaired and made that old farmhouse a home. In 2018 he learned that his uncle had passed away and that the home and land went into a trust that his second cousins managed. In the bitter cold winter of January 2019, the wood burning stove couldn't keep up with the polar vortex temperatures of -41º and below, the bitter cold finally pushed them out of their homestead, forfeiting their property. Today, you can hear these very stories throughout his music, whether it's being streamed across the internet or being played in a bar near you. Real stories of life, love, and struggle.
